Bahamas Family Vacation Planning Tips from Atlantis, Paradise Island

Here's everything you need to know about bringing your kids to Atlantis, Paradise Island.



In-room baby-sitting services are available. All baby sitters are CPR-certified. Guests should call one week prior to travel to book babysitting.

Children must be diaper and pull-up free for Atlantis Kids Adventures (kid’s club)the Atlantis Kids Club. Proof of age is required on initial Kids Club session.

Some water slides require that you be at least 48" tall.

The following venues have Age Restrictions:

  • Nobu - Gourmet Japanese Cuisine (children under 6 can be seated at 5:30 & 6pm only)
  • Cafe Martinique - Gourmet Epicurean French Delights (6 and up)
  • Casa D'Angelo - Gourmet Tuscan Meets Bahamian Fares (children under 6 can be seated at 5:30, 5:45 and 6pm only)

The other restaurants do not have any children restrictions.

Atlantis offers dining options that cater to special dietary needs. Guests who require special attention to their diets should provide the Chef’s Office with full details for special requests at least two weeks prior to arrival. On arrival, a culinary executive will arrange the times and locations for requested meals. Meals will be carefully prepared concerning food allergies or dietary restrictions. The Chef’s Office can be reached Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. by calling (242) 363-3000, ext. 66540.

THE REEF KITCHEN (Exclusive for The Reef guests)

  • Kitchen Area (For Studio)
    Under counter refrigerator, 2 burner glass cook top, under counter single drawer dishwasher, countertop microwave oven, stainless steel entertainment-type sink, countertops with full-height back splash, dining table and two chairs, china, glassware, tableware, cookware, utensils, toaster, and coffee maker.
  • Kitchen Area (For 1 Bedroom, 2 Bedroom, 3 Bedroom Suites)
    36" built-in bottom-freezer refrigerator with icemaker, 4 burner ceramic glass digital electric cook top, 30" built-in oven, over-the-range microwave oven, fully integrated dishwasher, stainless steel sink, continuous feed disposer, countertops with full-height back splash, dining table with four chairs, china, glassware tableware, cookware, utensils, toaster, and coffee maker.

Our babysitting service is an in- room service only, meaning that the babysitter comes to your room and baby sits, but is not allowed to take the child/children out of room unless they are accompanied by the parent/parents.

All of our babysitters are CPR certified and have child care qualification as well as background and security checked by Atlantis Security Department.

There is a fee of $25.00 an hour (based on one child) and $10.00 for each additional child per hour. If the sitting is booked between 10:00pm-7:00am the fees are $30.00(based on one child) and $10.00 for each additional child per hour.

There is a 3 hour minimum requirement for each sitting. A sitting that last more than six (6) consecutive hours, we ask the guest to provide the babysitter with a meal or allow her a 30 minute break. She brings to the room with her, an agreement form that has to be completed prior to the service. There are ABSOLUTELY NO cash transactions. Any tip or gratuity you wish to give the babysitter, must be added to the form and the total amount will be charged to your account.

If you wish to cancel or adjust the booking time, we ask that you give us a two (2) hour notice to avoid a penalty of $60.00 to your account.

The Transit Lounge, located outside the Royal Towers, and the Hospitality Cavern, located outside the Beach Tower, provide showers, bathing suit dryers, changing rooms and lockers to arriving and departing guests. These facilities are available at no charge.

The Reef Transit Lounge exclusively for The Cove and The Reef Guests provides showers, bathing suit dryers, changing rooms and lockers to arriving and departing guests. These facilities are available at no charge.

Should you require mobility assistance during your stay, you may arrange for a rental delivery to your guestroom. Day rates start at $20 per day for wheel chairs and strollers, $65 per day for power chairs and $45 per day for scooters. A $250 refundable security deposit will be required.
